🇬🇩 The Only Caribbean E-2 · China Visa-Free · Dual Strategic Pathway

Grenada Passport
The Only Bridge Between the US and China

Among the five Caribbean CBI programs, Grenada is the only one that delivers two things at once: the only one eligible for the US E-2 Treaty Investor Visa, and 30-day visa-free access to China. If your goal is "a passport for my spouse and kids to travel Europe freely, an E-2 for me to run a business in the US, and the ability to fly back to China without a visa to see my parents" — this is the only program that does all three.

Grenada's Two Trump Cards
No Other Caribbean CBI Can Match

🇺🇸

Card ① : US E-2 Treaty Pathway

The US E-2 is a "Treaty Investor Visa" — available only to nationals of countries that have signed an E-2 treaty with the United States. Of the five Caribbean CBI programs, only Grenada qualifies for E-2. Once you hold a Grenada passport, you can use it to apply for E-2 and live in the US long-term by investing in a US business (renewable indefinitely up to retirement). This is the shortcut around the multi-year EB-5 backlog.

  • E-2 investment threshold: from $150K (into a US-based business)
  • E-2 issuance in 2-3 months, renewable every 5 years
  • Spouse can work legally; children can attend US public schools
🇨🇳

Card ② : 30-Day China Visa-Free Entry

Grenada is the only Caribbean country whose nationals enjoy visa-free entry to China — and conversely, China also grants 30-day visa-free entry to Grenada passport holders. For diaspora Chinese living overseas who still need to return home often for family or business, this is a uniquely valuable feature.

  • 30-day visa-free to China (effective 2024)
  • Visa-free to Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore
  • Avoids the "can't go home after naturalizing" identity dilemma

Five Steps · 6-8 Months End-to-End · Fully Remote

Grenada CBI is administered by the Investment Migration Agency Grenada (IMA Grenada). The IMA does not accept direct personal applications — all filings must go through a licensed authorized agent. End-to-end averages 6-8 months. 2026 update: a new 30-day residency requirement applies, accumulated across the first five years of citizenship — this is a material change that affects every new applicant.

Step 1 · Assessment & Engagement (1-2 weeks)

Message Ken free eligibility and budget review (E-2 target? full family? timing?) service agreement signed document checklist released. We are a licensed agent of IMA Grenada.

Step 2 · Document Preparation (2-6 weeks)

Most applicants compile the full package in 2-6 weeks — application forms, investment proof, source of funds, police clearances, family-relationship documents. Notarization, apostille, and certified translations required. We then submit to the IMA.

Step 3 · Government Due Diligence & Preliminary Review (4-6 months)

The IMA runs full background checks on the main applicant and every family member aged 16+ (financial records, professional history, criminal background, source of funds verification). This is the longest and most consequential stage. Filing per our pre-checklist eliminates roughly 70% of back-and-forth corrections.

Step 4 · Approval-in-Principle & Investment Payment (2-3 weeks)

On successful DD, the IMA issues the "Approved in Principle" letter NTF contribution ($235K+) or real-estate investment ($270K+) is paid investment proof filed.

Step 5 · Oath & Passport Issuance (2-3 weeks)

Take the Oath of Allegiance at a Grenadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate citizenship certificate issued passport printed couriered internationally. Starting 2026: accumulated 30-day in-country residency over the first 5 years.

Grenada Passport — What Clients Ask Most Often

Does holding a Grenada passport guarantee an E-2 approval?
No. A Grenada passport only gives you the eligibility to apply for E-2. Whether the E-2 is granted depends on three additional factors: (1) whether your US investment project is a real operating business (not a shell); (2) whether the investment amount is commensurate with the business scope; (3) whether your business plan is persuasive. The Ken team works with partner E-2 attorneys — we run the full pipeline from passport to E-2 as a single integrated service, not "here's your passport, good luck."
Is Grenada's 30-day China visa-free status a permanent policy?
It's a bilateral agreement that took effect in 2024 — in principle, a long-term policy. That said, any visa-waiver arrangement can shift with diplomatic changes. Over the past five years, China has been expanding visa-free treatment to more countries (much of Europe, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, etc.) — the overall direction is toward greater openness, not restriction. My advice to clients is this: don't treat "China visa-free" as the core reason for your decision. Treat it as a bonus. The core value of Grenada is E-2 plus family protection.
With similar budget, how do I choose between Grenada and St. Kitts?
Depends on your priority:
(1) Primarily want to do business in the US (E-2) Grenada;
(2) Primarily want free travel across Europe (Schengen + UK) St. Kitts (broader visa-free list, more established brand);
(3) Primarily want visa-free return to China Grenada;
(4) Still unsure? Message Ken — we'll rank your priorities together and decide from there.
Is the Grenada real estate route actually recoverable as an investment?
In theory, you can resell to the next CBI investor after the 5-year holding period. In practice: Grenada's CBI property market is actually more active than St. Kitts' because client demand keeps coming in (E-2 draws investors). But "resellable" does not mean "resellable at your purchase price" — most clients take a 10-20% discount on resale. If your primary goal is investment return, Ken will tell you straight up to go with the NTF donation route instead.
If my kids want to attend US universities later, does a Grenada passport help?
Indirectly, yes: (1) Once you obtain E-2 status, your children hold E-2 dependent visas — they can attend US public schools and qualify for in-state tuition; (2) They are covered by family-visa status until age 21; (3) More importantly: applying to US universities on a third-country passport still places them in the international-student admissions track (same pool, same international-student rate), but E-2 dependent status opens an alternative route. This requires detailed planning — message us to talk it through.

Ken's two roles share the same underlying playbook.
